Unitree H2 Plus Becomes an NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid
Unitree announced H2 Plus, a humanoid reference design built around NVIDIA Isaac GR00T. The platform combines a Unitree H2 body, tactile five-finger hands, Jetson Thor compute and an open development workflow for humanoid research.

Unitree announced H2 Plus as an NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid Robot for academic and frontier robotics research. The platform is positioned as a validated starting point for teams building humanoid skills rather than a closed proprietary research system.
The reference design combines a Unitree H2 humanoid chassis with Sharpa Wave tactile five-finger hands, NVIDIA Jetson Thor onboard compute and the Isaac GR00T development platform. The goal is to unify hardware, data capture, simulation, training, evaluation and deployment workflows.
H2 Plus is described as a human-scale platform standing nearly six feet tall and weighing about 150 pounds, with 31 body degrees of freedom. With the dexterous hands added, the system reaches 75 degrees of freedom across the body and hands.
The system includes multi-view sensing through a head-mounted stereo camera, wrist cameras and inertial measurement, plus whole-body control intended for lifting, reaching and dexterous manipulation. Battery life is listed at roughly three hours, with an emergency stop function included for safety.
For developers, the importance is the software stack: Isaac Teleop for demonstration data, Isaac GR00T foundation models, Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab for simulation and evaluation, Isaac ROS middleware and Jetson Thor for on-robot inference.
Reference humanoids could make serious robot development less fragmented.
