The 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026) opened on August 19 at the Beijing Etrong International Exhibition Center, themed 'Human-Robot Co-Production, Supply-Demand Integration.' The opening ceremony gathered senior representatives from government, industry, academia, and research, including Beijing Party Secretary Yin Li, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng, and Beijing Mayor Yin Yong.
The exhibition features 373 domestic and international enterprises displaying over 3,000 innovative products, comprehensively showcasing the latest achievements in robotics technology. Over 10,000 competitors are participating in concurrent competitions. The conference is supported by 30 international authoritative organizations and has attracted more than 500 experts and scholars from around the world.
For the first time, WRC 2026 established a 'Procurement Day,' concentrating procurement negotiations and supply chain matchmaking. This reflects the industry's shift from technology demonstration to actual demand alignment — a signal that humanoid robots are moving from exhibition halls to factory floors.
According to TrendForce's latest research released at the conference, China's humanoid robot deployment has entered diverse scenarios including automotive, 3C electronics, aviation, logistics, and energy. The market is estimated to reach 15 billion yuan in 2026, with at least 60% growth projected for 2027 as production scales and application scenarios expand.
On the exhibition floor, companies like Unitree, UBTech, Xiaomi, and Fourier Intelligence showcased their latest humanoid platforms. Xingdong Era demonstrated a logistics sorting robot achieving 2,000 items per hour. The conference underscored that China's robotics industry has moved beyond prototype displays into the commercial validation phase, with procurement contracts replacing demo videos as the primary metric of progress.
