On September 4, 2026, Beijing-based robotics firm Galbot officially opened pre-orders for the ET1, its first dedicated bipedal humanoid robot. Marketed domestically as 'Yinhe Xingzai' (Galaxy Starboy), the machine represents a major commercial diversification for the startup, which previously built its market position on heavy wheeled logistics platforms like the G1 and S1.

The ET1 secured over 200 pre-orders within the first 24 hours of its JD.com listing going live, including 100+ on JD.com alone. The opening follows the robot's high-profile AstraTennis exhibition at the World Humanoid Robot Games, where Galbot humanoids completed 100+ consecutive rallies in a live tennis match.

The ET1 stands 1,250 mm tall and weighs 32 kg including battery. It is offered in three tiers: Standard (26 DoF, no dexterous hands, RK3588+RDK X5 compute), Pro (38 DoF with 12-DoF dexterous hands, adds NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano at 40 TOPS), and Flagship (same 38 DoF, adds Jetson Orin NX at 100 TOPS). The multi-processor architecture combines a Rockchip RK3588 with RDK X5 for baseline actuation, with dedicated AI acceleration on higher tiers.

Locomotion and whole-body posture control are governed by AstraBrain-WBC, a 100-million-parameter Transformer-based motion foundation model. Galbot asserts that this unified whole-body controller generates synchronized, human-like gait patterns and balance recoveries dynamically rather than switching across isolated walking states. An agentic self-learning pipeline allows the ET1 to acquire novel movements through physical demonstrations without external motion-capture rigs.

The ET1 targets commercial entertainment applications: theme park and venue greeting, storefront hospitality, live dance performance, and live comedy and dialogue (xiangsheng).
