Figure Helix 02 Demonstrates Full-Body Humanoid Autonomy

Figure introduced Helix 02 as its most capable humanoid autonomy model to date. The company says the system extends neural control from upper-body manipulation to whole-body loco-manipulation, where walking, reaching, grasping and balance are coordinated continuously.
The headline demonstration is a full kitchen workflow: a humanoid walks to a dishwasher, unloads dishes, navigates the room, stacks items and reloads the dishwasher without human intervention. Figure describes it as a long-horizon task that integrates perception, motion and task state over several minutes.
Helix 02 uses a layered architecture. A semantic reasoning layer interprets goals and scenes, a fast visuomotor policy converts perception into whole-body joint targets, and a learned whole-body controller maintains balance, contact and natural movement at high frequency.
The update also takes advantage of Figure 03 hardware, including fingertip tactile sensing and palm cameras. These sensors help with manipulation when objects are occluded from the head camera, such as unscrewing caps, handling pills, dispensing syringe volumes and picking small metal pieces from clutter.
The significance is that humanoid robotics is shifting from isolated demos toward continuous tasks across rooms. The hard problem is no longer only grasping an object, but grasping while walking, balancing and recovering from small errors.
The hard part is no longer a single grasp, but a continuous physical workflow.
